Unofficially....Officially waiting

We finished (and passed) the required online training, passed to meeting at the house, and now are waiting....

We have a few loose ends to tie up with getting paper work to Sarah so she can finish her report then it's onto the next step! The next thing will be filling out the I-600A form and sending it to immigration. We should be getting the packet of information on all of it any day now; hopefully we will have it done right after the first of the year. After filing the I-600A with immigration, they will contact us with an appointment to get fingerprinted! Just what I always wanted. ;) Then we wait......

So we are officially with the December group, which I am very happy about. We do have some seminars to attend starting in January, which I'm hoping will help pass the time. The approximate waiting time right now for a referral is 9 months, which brings to next fall. Then it will be about 4 months after that for us to bring home the baby! Of course this can all change, but we're not going to think about that, unless it's sooner.

For now I'm starting to look at furniture for the nursery, and going to start dragging Ethan with me.

Two down one to go!

We met with Sarah yesterday for the second home study meeting. We are so good that she told us we don't have to have four, we can have the third meeting be the final one! ;) I'm not sure how or why but we were able to cover most everything in the first two meetings so we can wrap it all up at the house December 13th. Once we are done with the home study, the online training that is required and a few other little things we, will be officially be part of the December group waiting for our referral! WOW, it's going to be real. It's kinda hard to believe all of this is actually happening and we will hopefully have our baby in 2009! I'm back to being excited again. It was a bit strange hearing Sarah call Ethan "the father" referring to one of the forms. That will take some getting used to!

Happy Thanksgiving

As some of you may know this is the start of a very bad time of year for me. The holidays pretty much suck for me. Don't get me wrong I love spending time with friends and family but over the past few years I haven't been able to really enjoy the holidays.

This year I decided that I wasn't going to dwell on past years, and instead be focus on what I am thankful for, friends and family. I think that this is the best time to acknowledge the people in my life that have given me so much love and support when I needed it the most. I am so lucky to have so many truly wonderful friends that have been there for me through thick & thin. The friends that have stuck with me over the past 15 years and the new friends that have come along. I especially want to thank the friends I've made in the past year that I am able to share all of this IF stuff with. It is a very hard thing to deal with and those women have made it so much easier on me and Ethan. We have been on this roller coaster of a ride far too long and even though I can finally see an end to it, it's still quite a way off.

As for my family they have done so much for me & Ethan, I will never be able to tell them how much it means to us to have the support they have given us.

I've been a pain at times, hard to believe but I have, and you have stuck with me, that means more to me than anything.

You have all had a hand in making me the person I am today and for that I am thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're on our way

We have officially started! We had our first home study visit last night with our case worker Sarah. This one was in her office and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We went over some paper work and talked a bit about the process of the home study and what we need to do. Some things are a little overwhelming right now but Sarah said she's there to help us through it step by step.

We will meet again Wednesday November 28th. We have a total of 4 visits with the case worker and one will be at our house. I think I want to save that one for last. At least now I know more of what to expect. For now we have home work to do.
